Finding Identity

This digital book was created as a final project for Chinese Contemporary Art in collaboration with two other students. My contribution included all design and layout, writing the introduction, and helping develop the research and concept.

I kept the overall layout clean and modern so it wouldn't compete with the featured artworks. The static pattern used on the cover and between articles was inspired by China's overpopulation and the fight for individualism. The word "identity" emerges from the visual noise, representing an individual trying to find themselves amongst the chaos.

The design challenge was creating something that felt both contemporary and respectful of the cultural complexity we were exploring.
