Graphic Design Education Companion
My capstone project embodies my passion for education and leadership. The Graphic Design Education Companion is an interactive informational document for incoming design students. After doing initial research for ideas, I realized the project IS the research.
A lot of incoming students are unfamiliar with the tools, language, and resources needed for successful completion of coursework. I gathered what was at the time a quick overview of different design categories like graphics vs web design vs print design. Each utilizes different reference tools, file systems, and design programs. I also included college campus design resources and a handy map. Almost all information on each page is clickable to get more details or navigate you through different sections of the document.
The design was inspired by retro-futurism with a nod to school folders and filing systems.
PROCESS
Below is a poster overview which shows the steps taken in developing the Graphic Design Education Companion followed by my thesis paper, Graphic Design Education vs The Online Platform.
